On September 2006 Macabi Haifa, Israel’s leading soccer team, held it’s opening season game for 2006-2007 in Kiryat Eliezer. Before the game, a memorial ceremony was held for 14 for the team’s fans, Daniel among them, who were killed during the second Lebanon war. The president of the soccer club, Yankale Shahar, spoke in their memory, the audience stood in silence for 1 minute and a special memorial booklet was produced for the event. The families of the fallen were the guests of the soccer club during the game.
